20 October 2008 New Grain Drier Installed
As part of the overall strategy to increase drying capacity by 60% and storage by 11,600 tonnes, a new grain drying system has been installed in preparation for the 2008 harvest. With the tonnage presented by members for drying set to increase by 10% in 2008 alone, the Board of Highland Grain have implemented a phased introduction of the new facilities. An Alvan Blanch DF48000S has been installed and it is hoped that it will dry around 10,000 tonnes per annum from wet to 12% moisture, over a period of 4 weeks.
